If I have exported an odoo database, how can I restore it in another instance of odoo?

  1. If no database exists on the Odoo server the create an empty database

  2. After creating blank database, or if a database already existed, go to the page at '{your_base_url}/web/database/manager' and click the "Restore Database" button.

  3. In the popup that appears upload your database file (zip or equivalent), enter a name and create. (Don't click the 'Generate a new database uuid' checkbox)

If you see a 400 error you may need to automate module upgrades from the odoo CLI, since the database's modules may be out of date. See {Will put link here later} on how to do this.
